We’re excited to invite you to design a logo for Muthamizh Sangam of Saskatoon (MSoS)!

Muthamizh Sangam of Saskatoon (MSoS), a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and awareness of Tamil culture in Saskatoon, is excited to announce a Logo Design Contest! We are seeking a creative and meaningful logo that embodies our mission and celebrates the richness of Tamil culture.

MSoS Logo Contest Theme:

The logo should encompass three key categories representing the diverse aspects of முத்தமிழ் Tamil culture:

1. இயல் - Literature, Speech, Written
• Symbolize the literary and spoken traditions of Tamil culture.
• E.g. Consider elements like quill pens, books, or flowing text.
2. இசை - Dance, Music
• Represent the dynamic and vibrant nature of Tamil performing arts.
• E.g. Use icons like musical notes, traditional instruments, or dance poses.
3. நாடகம் - Drama
• Reflect the theatrical and dramatic aspects of Tamil culture.
• E.g. Think about elements such as theatre masks, stage curtains, or dramatic symbols.

Submission Guidelines:

• Eligibility: Should have the Active MSoS Membership to participate, Open to all artists, designers, and creative individuals.
• Contestant Age: Participants of all ages are welcome. For children entering the contest, their parents must hold an active MSoS membership.
• Number of Submissions: Submit a minimum of 1 logo design and up to a maximum of 3 logo designs.
• Design Format: High-resolution digital format (e.g., PNG, JPEG). You may initially create your design on paper, but please ensure that your final submission is in the specified digital format.
• Color Scheme: Use a vibrant and culturally resonant colour palette. Incorporate traditional Tamil colors like yellow/gold மஞ்சள்/தங்கம்/பொன், deep red செம்மை/சிவப்பு, green பசுமை and white வெண்மை.
• Style: The logo should be versatile, suitable for digital and print media, and should integrate traditional Tamil motifs with a modern touch.
• Submission Deadline: 15-Dec-2024
• How to Submit: Please upload your design by completing the application form below.

Judging Criteria:

• Creativity and Originality: How well does the design capture and represent the essence of Tamil culture?
• Relevance: How effectively does the logo encompass the three categories of இயல் - Literature, Speech, Written, இசை -Dance, Music, and நாடகம் - Drama?
• Versatility: How well does the logo work across various mediums and sizes?
• Cultural Representation: How authentically and respectfully does the logo represent Tamil cultural elements?

Prizes:

• 1st Place: Special Prize, Gift voucher, featured on our website etc.
• 2nd Place: Gift, featured on our website etc.
• 3rd Place: Gift, featured on our website etc.

Additional Information:

• Winner Announcement: Winners will be announced on our next MSoS Event in 2025 and on our website etc.
• Rights: By entering the contest, you agree to grant MSoS the rights to use your design for promotional purposes.
